Private Parking

A mixed media painting from my observation of a BMX leaning down a back alley in the coastal village of Staithes. I was drawn to this scene with the wonderful textures of the outhouse doors and the stacked roof tiles, and enjoyed the sign on the shed door ‘No Parking’ and the bike leaning close to it. To record this I have used collaged paper to the surface to depict the dilapidated nature of the surface, working with acrylic on the top using a range of brush marks. Presented unframed and dispatched flat within rigid cardboard.
